Botulinum Toxin Type A

What is Botulinum Toxin Type A:

It is a natural purified protein, which in very low doses relaxes the overactive muscles that cause frown lines to form. Treatment is simple and non-surgical and smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows that have developed over time.

Botulinum Toxin Type A temporarily improves the appearance of moderate to severe lines between the eyebrows. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your health provider. Botulinum Toxin Type A is a neurotoxin. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles or sweat glands, temporarily paralyzing the muscle or gland.

Why Using Botulinum Toxin Type A:

Because it causes the overlying skin to become smoother, with fewer lines and wrinkles. After treatment, the skin remains smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression and feeling to be unaffected.

Use of Botulinum Toxin Type A is usually cheaper than surgery and the result will be noticed soon after injection (in some cases up to 7 days)

There will be no permanent scars and the there is no recovery time. The procedure may take only up to 15 minutes to be done and the effect last average 3 to 4 months (varies in different people)

Risk factors:

You should not use Botulinum Toxin Type A if:

The most common complications following injection include bruising at the injection site, mild headache, dry eye, drooping eyelids and uneven look of skin. Most of these results are temporary, undesired effects will fade and then disappear over time.
